So often, many of us have 101 reasons as to why things are not going our way. We blame our status, background, race, gender, religion, society, acts of God and tons of other things. Now, whilst some of these reasons may be applicable in your case, is there a slight chance that the main culprit could be YOU?
Consider this fact. Each time you point your finger, your other three fingers point right back at you. So let's forget what I term 'external' reasons for a moment – especially the things you have no power/control over. Let's turn the focus on you for a moment. Ponder on this question, “What do you suppose is the REAL reason for where you are today?” I guess only you can answer that one. If you are real honest with yourself, you may discover that where you find yourself today (good, bad or ugly) might be down to you. Sounds harsh, I know! However, I heard someone once say that, “Where you are today is a result of how you have invested your time yesterday”. I believe there is an element of truth in this.
So take a moment to consider what you have allowed to happen. Has any of the following crept in?
· Poor choices/decisions
· Laziness
· Lack of focus
· Spiritual, physical or emotional fatigue
· Distractions
· Emotional baggage
· Lack of support
· Lack of motivation
· Lack of faith and hope
· Past disappointments
· Past failures
· Discouragement or depression
Maybe your ‘thing’ is not on the list but thou knowest what’s keeping you from where you deserve to be. So isn’t it high time you get out of your own way? We are already in July. Hence, I suggest you take steps to propel yourself in the direction of success. My advice to you is to take action to make the rest of 2007 count for something significant.
Common Sis, I have faith in you. Let's run this course together and head for the finishing line. Success is already in sight!
Keep pressing on!
